British-ish...

Primark dress - £3 (charity shop), Shoes - Brick Lane (old), Primark headband - £2, Bracelets - gift, Scrabble ring - homemade, Mac lipstick in Russian Red

If you hadn't noticed, the Union Jack has been popping up all over the place during the past month, with the Queen's diamond jubilee looming. I'm not much of a patriot but I do enjoy a party, though I won't be celebrating on the 5th due my last exam being on the 6th - gutted. Any drinking will be postponed to the following day, but since I've got a while til my next exam I decided to indulge in a bit of nail art (it's been so long!!) and try out the Union Jack print. I'm not such a big fan, so I tried to make it look more cutesy/delicate/less tacky as possible.

Blue varnish - Barry M in Blueberry, Red and White - both nail art pens

Again, sorry for the blurry pictures. I WILL work out this lens in time, when I have time if ever. As soon as I put this dress on I immediately felt like drinking tea from a fine china cup, this is not normal since I'm a coffee drinker, don't hate me! I found this dress the other day when I went into town for the first time in a long time, and tried to bargain-hunt in Primark. It was so busy I had to leave and happened to wonder into Age Concern, where I found this Atmosphere dress for £3..If only I believed in fate. The pearly necklace is also from there and was a tiddly 60p, which I was very happy about!

Are any of you celebrating the Jubilee, wherever you are in the world? Even if it's just as an excuse to get tipsy.

The sun has got his hat on...

Well hello fellow readers, firstly I'd like you to take a minute to check out the breath-taking scenery that is the back garden of my student house. Just gorgeous. Secondly, I have spent the last week stuck inside making a sickly amount of flow-charts, practice essays, and word associations, while crying over the fact that people are outside sunbathing and laughing REALLY LOUDLY on purpose. The two biggest exams of my uni life are done and I have one tiny little shitty one left in 9 days, aka time for a little break involving sun, company magazine, and roundtree lollies!

H&M top (edited) - £5, H&M maxi skirt - £12.99, Poundland hat and sunnies - £1 (obv), Pull & Bear necklace - £7.99, Charity shop bracelet - 60p, DPs ring - £1, Models Own nail varnish in Mocca

I went a bit wild after my exam yesterday and did a bit of shopping on the actual high street SHOCK HORROR! Don't get me wrong, I've done an excessive amount of eBay browsing in the last few weeks, and have bought several lovely items which I will be revealing to you one by one, but I forget the excitement of charity shopping so I went back to the bargain-hunting roots and nabbed a few items. Also managed to find the perfect portfolio clutch to go with my gradball dress from Primark, lovely black and gold! Will have to pop up a preview of my whole outfit to get some feedback/tips. I'm also on the hunt for some black and gold shoes to match so PLEASE tell me if you see any fairly cheap ones!

Hope all of you are slathering on the factor 50 and enjoying the weather!

Sky Blue

How amazing is this weather?!
I am literally in complete bliss having finished my exams and the weather just tops it off to perfection.
(Sorry Dee, you will be finished soon!)
I've been passing the days flopped in the sunshine, playing Frisbee and drinking cider in the sun with friends. How have you been enjoying the heat?

I flipped the script a bit with this outfit because the top is actually a skirt.

Necklace - Tiffany & Co
Top - Primark
Skirt - InWear
Shoes - Primark

You can see the toll the sunshine and heat has had on the grass! Damn the hosepipe ban...

The nail varnish is Models Own and I've painted an accent nail on each hand with small spots.

Do you think the skirt works as a top?
Now, for another day of Frisbee on our campus hill. Might have to change the skirt though because the wind might cause some serious trouble in the pant exposure department.

Silver Leaves and Purple Jeans

This outfit post actually comes from a while back (when the sun was shining) but I've been so busy with revision and exams that I never got round to doing it. Now however... I AM FINISHED!!! Wahooooo. The freedom feels pretty surreal to be honest and some exams definitely went better than others but all in all I am just happy for it to be over.

So, now I have the time to redeem myself as Dee has been doing near enough all the posts recently and she has the main body of her exams yet to come.

This sleeveless blouse is from H&M and only came to £7.99 which is such a bargain. You can't actually tell because the jeans are high waisted but it is actually a really good length as well which is a bonus.

I have had this silver leaf necklace for ages now and I had kinda forgotten about it. Turns out, it is the perfect accompaniment to a shirt like this!
In retrospect, looking back over these I think a lick of fuchsia lipstick wouldn't have gone a miss but I will bear it in mind for the future.

I also decided to shoot a friend of mine because she recently bought some gorgeous purple jeans from River Island for only £15 that, teamed with an aztec top are definitely feature worthy...

Converse are a perfect match to this outfit too, drawing in the white from the top.

She would probably hate me for saying this but can you believe that Alice's hair is naturally this golden blonde?!
I lost my natural blonde hair when I was about 13. Sigh.

Anyway, what do you think about our outfits?
Hopefully the sun will start shining again soon so we can whip out some more summery numbers. Meanwhile, a hoodie may be necessary.
Good old England and our temperamental weather!

Little Seahorse...

Urban Outfitters top - £3 via eBay, H&M shiny skinnies - £7 (sale), Seahorse necklace - gift, DP triangle ring - £1 (sale), Red ring - unknown

Sorry, not a very interesting outfit post for you today due to lack of time! Managed to make it to the library and back wearing this, a good hour or so, before I then had to wriggle out of the trousers when I got home. Revising at home = PJs always.
This was actually a few days ago and I haven't had much success dressing myself since, but it's allowed because I'm in a state of mental overload, poor dietary intake, and extreme lack of the outside world. I also apologise for my bare nails - yes they are naked AVERT YOUR EYES!!! I no longer allow myself the luxury of nail painting and am heart broken.

In other news, I now have two potential graduation ball dresses that are both very different. I'm considering doing a post based on this dilemma to get some opinions since friends and family have so far been pretty even on deciding. What do you think?
I believe my good friend Gabs finished her exams yesterday and will currently be very hungover, but you will be hearing from her a lot more over the next few weeks while I crawl off and become a revision hermit. That's actually quite a creepy metaphor.

Geek chic...

H&M shirt - £7, H&M knit top - Hand-me-down, New Look Leggings - £2 via charity shop, DP collar necklace - £1 (sale), Ring & Bracelet - gift, Lipstick - Rimmel Show Off

Quick outfit post before I get told off for doing blog stuff instead of revising. I've spent most of the week revising in bed because it's too cold in this frickin' house so I haven't really dressed much at all. Yes, I am scummy but when you spend all day revising psychosis, depression, and other disorders these things happen. Gabs is finishing her exams in the next few days, I finish in the next three weeks, the jealousy!

A trip up north...

Last weekend, after a horrifically messy night out for my housemate's birthday where I dressed as Smee from Peter Pan only to be mistaken for Santa the whole night and wake up with stained eyebrows, I went up north to visit some relatives for my great aunt's 80th in Sunderland. It was a lovely day, if not slightly tainted by my hangover (the carvery didn't look quite so appetising), and I got lots of pretty pictures of horses and the country side. The top photo is a garden center we stopped by, it was actually magical and I wanted to live there. Anyway, here's what I wore, baring in mind I woke up at 7am and had an hour to get ready/run to the train station...

Peacock's blazer - £10, Asos crochet jumper - £3.50 via eBay, Dip hem skirt - £7.99 via eBay, DP collar necklace and ring - both £1 in sale, Sunglasses - €5 abroad

I'm still trying to get to grips with this 50mm lens, and will hopefully be clued up about it for the summer, when me and Gabs will be having some quality time together taking many photos and generally loving life. It is now very late and I have to get up bright and early for another day of gruelling revision for my exams next week (ahhhh!)
